Rick Perry wins 2012 Presidential Election

OK maybe I jumped the gun a bit. But it is my firm belief that Governor Perry can’t be beat and will easily win the nomination and the general election. Take a look at his speech announcing his bid for President:

Ron Paul’s Dangerous Foreign Policy

I don’t think I’m the only one who was shocked at just how deep Presidential Candidate Ron Paul’s non-interventionist views runs when he spoke about Iran Thursday night. Here is a very rough paraphrasing of his exchange with Rick Santorum:

Liar Calls Speaker Boehner a Liar

A fellow by the name of David Moberg wrote an editorial two days ago detailing all of House Speaker John Boehner’s alleged lies during his response to President Obama’s July 25th debt ceiling address to the nation. Needless to say (but I’m going to say it anyway, in detail) this is a particularly outrageous editorial full of contradictions and deceit that defy all logic and show a healthy dose of hypocrisy. Let’s get started: Read more

The Inevitable Default?

As I’m sure you’re all aware, President Obama gave a national address last night to garner support for a “balanced” approach to decreasing the deficit and raising the debt ceiling. This speech was widely derided by the right as partisan, full of class warfare, and an obvious campaign speech to appeal to independents. Speaker of the House, John Boehner, gave a surprisingly (to me) combative and pointed response. Read more

Tax cuts increase the deficit! No – tax cuts raise revenue!

There seems to be a lot of shouting now-a-days about whether or not tax cuts raise or reduce government revenue. This debate has raged ever since the Kemp-Roth Tax Cut during the Reagan administration, which is often credited with raising, not lowering government revenues. Economists such as Paul Krugman declare supply-side economics as “voodoo economics.” Republicans are often claiming that the tax cuts raise revenues by promoting economic expansion (more on this in a later blog). Who is right?

Romney not the GOP’s Savior

For those who seem think that Mitt Romney is the last, great hope for the GOP (or at least it’s best candidate to defeat Obama), let me remind you why there is very real scorn for Mitt Romney. He not only earned his his reputation as flip-flopper on things like health care and abortion, but Read more

Empathy and Disingenuity

In a June 16th article about a recent Supreme Court decision, Dahlia Lithwick contends that “Sonia Sotomayor shows Samuel Alito the value of judicial empathy.” After wading through the loaded language on her post (Apparently Samuel Alito habitually avoids “the idea that judges and police officers could ever substitute their judgment for that of a child.” Mrs. Alito tried to discuss it during breakfast, too, but Sam would have none of it.), it struck me how completely disingenuous the whole article is.

Barry or Mitt?

Quick quiz, folks!  The following quotes were all spoken by either Mitt Romney or Barack Obama during the 2008 presidential primaries.  Can you identify who said what?

1. ”There is no doubt that the economy has been out of balance… That’s why I have proposed specific tax relief now, immediately, so that we would offset some of the payroll tax, that we would immediately put some additional dollars in the pockets of American families.” Read more

Rand Paul on Obama

A few a days ago, Rand Paul released a statement criticizing President Obama. Suffice it to say, it’s a statement we here at Conservative Watch agree with. Looks like he’s not as loony as his father.

A Knife in the Back of Israel

Well I’m back from a long hiatus and I feel the need to write about Obama’s speech today – and how I’m shocked it hasn’t garnered more reaction.  I’m referring to, obviously, the bewildering assertion that Israel should return to its pre-Six Day War borders. Read more
